Employment Problems
The use of hand-held mobiles or any device whilst driving is illegal and strictly prohibited under
our Health & Safety and Handheld Devices Policy as it is extremely dangerous.
Failure to comply with this is gross misconduct and disciplinary action will be taken.
On-site Radio Equipment
All TJ radios will now be assigned to members of staff and signed for at the beginning of
each shift. Those who are assigned radios must at all times:
Take care of the equipment issued to you
Make sure radios are always on charge at the end of shift or when not in use
Report any faults or issues to either Foreman or weighbridge operator
Radios must be clean and in a suitable state so others may be able to use them
Failure to respect and take care of company property may result in disciplinary
procedures being taken against you
When a call is given to any Machine Operator on site you are expected to power your
machine down, STOP and respond accordingly if you do not hear or are unclear of
the instruction given you must not restart work until any confusion has been cleared.
This is for the safety of everyone working on site.
Please remember radios are there for you, your colleagues and site visitor’s wellbeing and safety
They should also enable you to be in constant contact with your colleagues to make your job
easier.
