All machine operators are responsible for checking each machine to ensure that they are kept in
good working order.
Daily checks must be made and recorded to ensure the correct working of the following:-
• All oils • Horns • Stress points for
cracks in metal
• Water • Brakes work
• Air filters • Loading • Mirrors
equipment
• Bodywork • Grabs and
• Wheel fixings Attachments
• Lights
• Grease • Any signs of
• Tyres/Tracks points vandalism
• Windscreen
wipers
If you are unsure what you should be looking for, your site manager will assist you in your
checks.
All Machines are fitted with an hour clock to identify the hours worked. All operators must be
aware of when the next service is due for the machine they are operating, and must notify
the Site foreman in good time so that the service can be arranged. It is recommended that
the Site foreman is notified 50 hours before the next service is due.
