NONI fruit has also proven a marked hepato-protective

activity. A very recent research published in Journal of

Functional Food (2000) again proved that Fermented

NONI yields liver-protective effects. The research

concluded that Fermented NONI reduced the effect of

alcohol on liver function by maintaining the liver

function index in a normal state. Compared with the

control group, levels of serum AST, ALT, ALP, and GGT

(liver function indicator: the lower the better) were

significantly lower in the fermented NONI groups.
