patient cases. According to laboratory cellular tests,

NONI offers potential to be used as a chemo-adjuvant,

especially for the treatment of human papilloma-

induced cervical cancer.

Several laboratory studies have also shown that NONI

not only exerts by itself a significant cytotoxic and

apoptotic effect, but is also able to synergize the

therapeutic efficacy of conventional anticancer drugs

like cisplatin or doxorubicin. The cytotoxic effect of Noni

juice has been attributed to the unique of chemical

compounds such as damnacanthal and alkaloids.

To the NONI polyphenolic fraction, and especially to the

fruit iridoid glycosides, there have been attributed a

multiplicity of effects on the recovery of cell-mediated

immunity, suppressed in cancer status, for e.g. the

increase of peripheral blood granulocytes, the

stimulation of IL-2 production, and of natural killer

activity in cancer-bearing animals.

Beneficial effects are also to be anticipated in the

medically-controlled administration to cancer patients,

especially in the early stages, with main beneficial
