The Actual Practice:

Students are introduced to the learning material before class, with classroom time. Students are

assigned the topics and they prepare a presentation and present it before the faculty. After getting
the approval from the faculty the same is presented during the lecture hours. This further leads to

      brainstorming sessions.

      Outcome:

              • Leads to deeper understanding and greater retention of concepts than traditional
                 lecture information transfer in class.

              • Classes added some variety and change of pace to classes and made the course more

interesting for both students and instructor.
              • Helped in deepen learning and develop higher-level cognitive skill

              • Helped in engaging students in use of technology, collaborative activity, peer learning

                 and problem-based learning.

Title of the Practice: Unique Assignments: Topics like social behavior of insects and animals,
flora and fauna and the like

      Objective of the Practice:

              • To offer a wealth of opportunities to learn from others

              • Tool design using biological world as a catalogue of successful design which can be
                 interpreted to solve human problems.

              • Collective behavior and nest architecture of social insects that can inspire innovative

and effective solutions to human design challenges.

              • Draw parallel from social insects which also have a society
