The JU Hackathon was conducted to bring the students from across the nation together to explore,
discuss and implement new solutions and the theme for the same is - 'Digital Bharat'- Come, let's
empower Bharat together. Applications are invited form the students and are thoroughly
reviewed and then shortlisted.. The whole event is divided into three stages viz... Presentation of
the idea towards the theme with focus on Social Business and the intermediate implementation of
the idea and finally demonstrating the working model developed. The event began with
inauguration program by lightening of Diya. Besides the contest there are sessions by Founder

Karnataka and Software Engineering, MCfee India Centre who took chances to address the
gathering which they were experienced in sharing their knowledge.
As its initiative, University has been conducting Idea Competition and Invention Competition over
the past few years. The INVENTECH IC fosters innovative ideas and activities among the young
students and faculty.
Evidence of Success:
The main theme of IDEA INFOTECH 2019 contest was to identify idea that can be incubated and
commercialized the theme for year 2018 was 'Innovations for Rural Empowerment and
Sustainable Development. Proposals involving inventive ideas and developments in the fields of
Energy, Disaster Mitigation, Transportation, Materials, Environment, Life Sciences and
information Technology/IoT preferably focusing on the above theme were invited. B.Tech
students of Jain (Deemed-to-be University) brought laurels by receiving the INAE Innovative
Student Project Award 2019. Receiving an INAE Innovative Student Project Award is of great
achievement as the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), is an apex body and promotes
the practice of engineering & technology and the related sciences for their application to solving
problems of national importance. The Project was titled “Tubercles effect on a wing performance
for NACA 634 – 421 aerofoil” and the team of students namely Amrutha K, Dumpeti Vineeth, Gracio
Joyal Lobo, Medisetti Swami Charan were guided by Assistant Professor Ashish Gupta of Jain
(Deemed-to-be University) and fitting innovation into this equation is often difficult. The gap
between an idea and a working prototype is huge. Finally time is the challenge that crushes
innovators souls.
