Step 6. Create Your Executive Office 111

There are many privately owned storefronts like Parcel Plus compa
nies that allow you to use "their street address" and put your "mail
box number" as just #. That way it looks like a suite number, and
you do NOT have to say p.o. BOX #. That screams, "1 don't work
in a real office," and you'd rather emphasize the professionalism of
your business. Today, many P.O. boxes have "real" street addresses
and you just need to put the box number as, say, #100, so it looks
like a suite number!

                                       Stay away from:

My Company, p.o. Box 501 , Any City, USA, 00000

                                    Get something like:

My Company, 100 Main Street #501, Any City, USA, 00000

It's especially useful if you get a PO. box on a street known for

detail, but these small items can make a significant difference in
how your company is perceived.

If a buyer is in town and wants to see your office, which
happens, don't worry. Just say, "I work out of my
                             let's meet at. . . ." But until then, mum's the word.

In addition to the U.S. Postal Service (www.usps.com). other com
panies such as the UPS Store (www. theupsstore.com) and Mail Boxes
Etc. (www.mbe.com) offer this service .

Be sure to get a box that is close to your home , because you will
want to keep up-to-date on your mail and you don't want to waste
time commuting to it frequently. Usually, if you are waiting for a
specific package (or a check!) you can call the office to ask if you
