    The gift makes the customer feel special and helps build brand
loyalty (the customer feels like she got something for free and she
will order again, hoping for the same little perk). Sometimes people
even take the time to say thanks because they are so surprised to
get a freebie.

    At Moisture Jamzz, we even try to personalize the freebie by
keeping track of past orders. For example, if a client seems to always
order only gloves, we will put in a complimentary pair of socks with
a note saying, "Save lO percent on your initial order of socks." With
large orders we may send some extra product for the buyer (think
before you send, however-if you're shipping to a distribution cen­
ter or to individual stores in a large chain, the buyer may not work
out of any of those places) or offer free shipping on orders over a
certain dollar amount. Make it a company policy to give a little
more than people expect in regard to both product and customer
service.

      Approaching buyers with your product is likely a brand-new
