Felix Musau is the newest addition to the WIOCC Sales team. As the Country Account Manager – Kenya, he works closely with WIOCC shareholder Telkom Kenya and other clients within the region to support their business by managing and interpreting their current and future business requirements.
What has been your highlight of 2020?
2020 was a year of persistence and despite the challenges, we adapted and kept moving forward. The Covid-19 pandemic helped me appreciate how flexible life really is and how highly adaptive humans are. We had to rapidly modify and evolve our way of living - work from our homes which was previously considered a luxury, attend virtual meetings that we thought could only be effective when done face-to-face, have our children attend classes online and sit end-term examinations, among other things.
What do you think was the most significant innovation of the telecom industry?
As an Engineer specialised in IP network development, in my career I have seen Internet of Things (IoT) take full advantage of evolving IP networks to bring out the power of the internet, data processing and analytics by integrating to high-utility physical objects. For example,
with smart home electronic devices such as fridges and televisions, an electricity provider
can optimise and better manage their services by collecting and analysing real-time data of their customers’ consumption. Businesses can leverage on IoT to improve decision-making, understand customers, deliver new customer added-value propositions as well as generate new revenues and improve the value of the business.
