We continue to
work with the
chapter and its
leadership to bring
about a culture of what it means to be a
life-long EX! I think it is a challenge in
today’s society with the pressure put on
“today:” grades, discovering what you
want to do with your one crazy life, job
market, college costs, “getting ahead,”
building your resume, social media,
relationships, etc…this world is a tough
one for any college student.
BUT, we must help our brothers realize
that there is more to life. EX gives our
members so many opportunities to grow
as young adults, students, leaders and
it is our commitment as a Board and
alumni to help them not forget that there
are strong arms around them! Our house
culture needs to permeate these young
minds with our ideals about life-long
commitments, values and principles,
gratitude, brotherhood, leadership,
personal responsibility, respect for each
other and for the house in regards to both
the people that crossover the threshold
into brotherhood as well as the physical
plant. The “real world” is not necessarily
sending these kinds of messages. So we
are challenged in many ways and my
hope and goal is that we can meet these
challenges and build a culture and mindset
that we all will be proud of!
The Board continues to make strides.
Please allow me to explain:
♦♦ We are working diligently to work with
the chapter and Moms Club to help make
our EX experience second to none.
♦♦ We installed a new dining room floor
and kitchen counter tops with some help
from the Moms’ Club – thank you all!
♦♦ Over the most recent moms’ weekend
they were able to raise $12,000 to benefit
the house! We will work together with
the Moms’ Club to coordinate the best
use of the funds with the chapter.

Alumni Spotlight: Christopher G. Prchal ’13
Editor’s Note: For this edition of the newsletter we’re shining the
Spotlight on Brother Christopher Prchal ’13. From the hometown
of Orland Park, IL, Christopher earned his degree in Finance at
Illinois. Having served the chapter as Rush Chair as an active,
he stays in touch with his pledge brothers today while working
as an actor and living in Los Angeles. Christopher has had some
success working on projects such as Chicago Fire, and Oxygen
Network’s Killerpost. For fun, he enjoys visiting family and friends
in Chicago, hiking, running on the beach, and going to the movies.
