J.K Rowling

Joanne Rowling (mostly known as J.K Rowling) was born on July 31st,
1965. She grew up in Yate in Gloucestershire England. She is best
known for writing the Harry Potter book series, which is now a movie
series and a play.

Joanne was born in the Chipping Sodbury Maternity Hospital and
grew up in Yate with her younger sister Dianne. Her parents' names
were Peter and Anne Rowling.

Joanne went to a primary school called St Michael's, in
Gloucesterhire. She then went to a university called the University of
Exeter in Devon.

After 12 rejections, J.K Rowling finally got Harry Potter published by
Bloomsbury and Scholastic Press.

The Boy Who Lived (another name for Harry Potter) was a huge
success and it was loved by adults and children from around the
world.

Joanne ended up having 3 children and 2 husbands. She has MANY
awards, but one of them is the Newbery Medal.

J.K Rowling still encourages kids and adults to read books. Harry
Potter has changed many lives, and she continues to write many
stories including Fantastic Beasts and many others.
