Here's an anecdote found on the net about the “Sloughi”:
“..... of the pinardier that ran aground at the head of St-Brieuc Bay, just a stone's throw
from the port of Le Légué. In a matter of minutes, the “Sloughi” - the name of the boat
carrying a Sicilian wine more explosive than refined petroleum - found itself surrounded
by several hundred people armed with cans, jerrycans and wash boilers, waiting for the
hull to give way and release its precious liquid. Alas, the old metal sheets held firm, and the
spontaneous anti-pollution barrage came home empty-handed!”
The Sloughi ran aground in the channel opposite the Printania Hotel. The Ouest-France
correspondent mischievously asks: “...could this be due to the insufficient depth of the
channel?...”.
