Let's say a word about the name of the Sloughi ship: Sighthound, dog known since
ancient times for its gazelle hunting qualities. The word “Sloughi” derives from a city in
the south of the Arabian Peninsula, Saluk or Saloug. Biad: Literally “whitening” biad or
tebieda” in Moroccan dialect. This term refers to the concept of calling for good luck, in
the form of a symbolic offering (sugar, tea, rose water, candle or cash).”
