Henna is said to protect the lower skin of the Sloughis' legs (the bottom of the legs)
against any kind of bad terrain. Thus, the Sloughi maintains good running ability, because

its legs cannot be gnawed thanks to henna. Henna could also be used on the body if there
is skin irritation.
