TRIBUTE FROM
           GRANDCHILDREN

Dear Auntie Grandma or should we say Grandma.
Some of you may know her as “Auntie Jane”, whilst some may know her as
“Auntie Grandma” or even “Best Friend”. Regardless of what you called her,
we think we can all agree that Grandma was the sweetest soul to have
graced us in our lifetime and we will forever be grateful for that.
It is undeniable the role Grandma played in shaping our futures from early
childhood through to adulthood. Our fondest memories date back to the
earlier years when she would either take us in at her home or come over to
stay during the times our parents had to work. Grandma had a great and
unique style of teaching and disciplining us as kids that forever stuck with us.
Grandma used to always say to us ''anupa ne a da, a folk-un-folko''.’
She taught us the value of hard work, and the possible rewards of doing
things right. We had great respect for Grandma and beneted from her
wealth of wisdom. Grandma had a never-ending reserve of witty jibes which
she employed as a disciplinary tool to keep us in check. Looking back, we
can say that it proved very effective.
She was so sprightly, even at 93, that we took it for granted that she would
see 100. Little did we know that she will be gone so soon. Auntie Grandma,
you were so rm and strict, yet very humorous in your ways. God has used you
as a pillar of wisdom in our lives. There is a piece of you in us that keeps us
ghting for what belongs to us. You were a woman of strength, of character,
of courage, of love and of truth.
We still nd it hard to believe we will never get to hear you sing or hum hymns
again. Honestly, we shall never forget the precious moments that we shared
together. Your memory will forever remain fresh in our minds but we take
consolation in the fact that all is not lost and that as mortal as we are, we shall
surely meet again. So, until we meet again, we say goodbye and may the
Good Lord grant you peaceful rest.

“We love you Auntie Grandma, may you Rest in Peace up in heaven.
                                                                                                                                                 IN LOVING MEMORY 7
                                                                                                                                                   MADAM JANET VANDRPUIJE
