TRIBUTE BY
KWEKU ARHIN
BROTHER
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2
And I declared that the dead, who have already died,
are happier than the living, who are still alive.
Ecclesiastes 4:2
Upon my arrival to your bedside on the
evening of that fateful Tuesday at the
hospital in Accra, I thought you were
asleep, but when your husband called you
and said “Efe Arhin aba ooo”, you opened
your eyes, shook your head, and closed
your eyes again, with that being the last
time you heard my name before your
demise.
Your passing away came so unexpectedly
as we were all optimistic that you were
going to sail through the storm but
unfortunately you couldn’t.
I can still hear you groaning in pain, telling
your husband and I that we should pull
you up on your bed. Ever since your
demise, I just can’t stop thinking about
your love and the kindness you extended
to all who encountered you, not forgetting
the consistent prayer messages you
always share on WhatsApp.
