Gail Walker
Gail travelled the country from her home in Scotland
to campaign her dog, Sh Ch Ansona Monsoon
ShCM to his title. Her passion for the breed led her
to volunteer her services for the WCGB Rescue
& Rehoming team. She successfully helped to
rehome dogs for their owners but also helped
them keep their dogs with guidance. She herself
adopted a Weimaraner dog & bitch over the years
and successfully introduced them to her dogs. She
served as a committee member of the Weimaraner
Club of Scotland for a time too.
Gail is much missed in her role as a coordinator
for Club Rescue and Gail served as a committee
member for the Weimaraner Club of Scotland.
Recently, she had been given a Slovakian Rough
Haired Pointer puppy by her family and was looking
forward to once again entering shows.
A sad loss to all who knew her.
Jane Wright (Hofstetter)
Jane sadly passed away in April 2020. She bought
her first Weimaraner in 1973; Chantel of Kenstaff
and her offspring are behind both Val O’Keefe’s
Castlegarnstone affix and Jo Hesford’s Pipwell affix.
Jane made up a homebred male, Sh Ch Hofstetter
Mondlicht and in 2000 she bought a puppy from
Stephen & Patsy Hollings who went onto to become
Sh Ch Gunalt Intimate for Hofstetter.
She was a breed Championship judge not only at
major Championship shows but also for the breed
clubs. Jane enjoyed her time with Weimaraners and
her other passion was Miniature Bull Terriers. Jane
was a jovial person, knowledgeable about the breed
and enjoyed time with her friends.
Alastair Ford (Dangvord)
Alastair was involved with Weimaraners since the 1960’s served on the WCGB Committee before
taking over as Secretary in 1972. In his editorial, he wrote ‘Your secretary has no aspirations to be a
journalist and hence this will probably be the shortest editorial on record’ He then when onto publish
an article he had read ‘Should You Have A Litter’, many points being pertinent today.
Alastair was a Championship judge and well known for always having his measuring stick with him to
check the height of the dogs under him. Alastair last judged the breed at Crufts in 2009 drawing an
entry of 200 dogs & not only was his measuring stick in view but handlers were told to dispose of the
