All Breeds title. In the following year, I was well in the big ring and was shortlisted in the
presented with the trophy, at Crufts, just before
judging a superb entry of 254. He also won Top
Gundog Sire in the two subsequent years. He
died in 1999. I still miss him.
Also in that year, came our sweet and very
sound Borgia, Sh Ch Flimmoric Flashback, so
named as he carried all my British and American
lines. His sire was a Fanclub grandson, the
Grewcock’s, Sh Ch Ryanstock Genteel.
Flashback also achieved a group 2 placing in
2003 at Midlands Counties.
In 2002 we had a lovely bitch from the Hollings’,
Gunalt Crazy about Flimmoric, and from her,
using frozen semen, we bred Jungle, Sh Ch
Flimmoric Fanatic, another happy and easy
to show dog. Under judge Stephen Hollings, he
also won BOB at Crufts in 2007 and showed
K9 NEWS DIGITAL / MARCH 2021
group.
Now we have only two, Gunalt Fanacapan
of Flimmoric another Fanclub offspring using
A.I. She is, I feel, probably the best of all the
bitches that we have owned with a temperament
to match, her three litter mates all gaining their
titles. Also a two year old dog who won’t be
shown but is much loved.
Now my showing days are over but what
wonderful memories of all the dogs I have, they
have all lived in the house as pets and been
a large part of our families’ lives - although
they may have some complaints about being
dragged around to shows! So it all goes back
to chance, luck and a serendipitous meeting, of
this special breed in 1962.
