You die when you have to, don’t you dare discrete. That Winter Night
“I sure am insulted although it benefits me, The coldest night of the winter,
You don’t leave your family and friends and dreams. The leaves buried under inches of white,
Don’t you agree? A roof on the verge of falling,
Now, get up and you will get to redeem.” People flinching at the mere sight,
No food left to fill this hungry stomach,
I got up because I knew I had been honoured by her, No hope left of the warm summer light.
I forgot my pressure, and I forgot my try,
I just remembered I had an achievement to refer, Lying on the floor barely clothed,
And that I wouldn’t cry. Torn shoes that are a little too small,
Tangled hair, ribs visible through papery skin,
So today, when they said, “You’re useless,” Exhausted, no strength, not even to crawl,
All I did was smile at them like the dead, People pass by with pitiful eyes,
I wasn’t really in distress but did digress. But none seem to care at all.
I had forgotten the dread.
I don’t want your money
Aarja Kochar I don’t need your wealth,
MYP-2 All that you ask of you is a smidge of respect
And maybe a job, to support my family in good health.
It isn’t fair
you live your life in cautious stealth.
So, you make sure to work hard
And you never complain
You try to make a living
Someday you will leave behind the pain.
Just remember that the sun shines brightest
Right after the harshest rain.
