RULES TO GOVERN CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS (continued )
8. Discussion shall be limited to items on the agenda. Other items should be submitted in writing to the
Regional Grammateus for consideration at a later time.
9. Only voting delegates, alternates and Regional Officers may present motions.
10. All sorors attending the Regional Conference may participate in the discussion.
11. Upon recognition, the soror addressing the chair will state her name and chapter affiliation.
12. Debate is limited to ten minutes on any issue. Each soror may speak no more than one minute on any
given point. The Parliamentarian will notify the chair when debate exceeds time limit.
13. The soror making a report is privileged to initiate the motion for acceptance.
14. Reports of committees shall be limited to the time allotted on the agenda. Time can be extended only
by vote of the delegates.
15. The chair may give an assignment to any soror attending the Regional Conference.
16. Robert’s Rules of Order will govern all proceedings not included in The National Constitution and
Bylaws, Eastern Region Bylaws or the regulations listed herein.
17. In cases of emergency, announcements may be made at any time during the sessions.
18. All routine announcements shall be presented to the Regional Grammateus in writing. These an-
nouncements shall be made at the close of the given session either by the Regional Director, Gramma-
teus or a representative of the hostess chapter.
19. The cooperation of each soror is requested to insure a fruitful, enlightening, stimulating and produc-
tive Regional Conference.
