alcohol or consuming alcohol while on duty or during work hours. In addition, DELFI prohibits off-
premises abuse of alcohol and controlled substances, as well as the possession, use, or sale of
illegal drugs, when these activities adversely affect job performance, job safety, or the Company’s
reputation in the community.
From time to time, DELFI may sponsor social or business-related events at which alcohol is
served. This policy does not prohibit use or consumption of alcohol at such events. However, if
employees choose to consume alcohol at such events, they must do so responsibly and maintain
their obligation to conduct themselves properly and professionally at all times with colleagues
and/or current or prospective clients.
Drug Searching and Testing
Subject to and in accordance with applicable state and local law, substance abuse screening may
be conducted in the following situations:
For Cause: Employees may be required to submit to testing for substance abuse if:
● DELFI has reasonable grounds to believe that an employee’s faculties are impaired on the
job; and
● The employee is in a position where such impairment presents a clear and present danger
to the physical safety of the employee, another employee, or to a member of the public.
If a sample is obtained from an employee under the above circumstances, DELFI will, at
the Company’s expense, provide the employee the opportunity to:
o Have the sample tested or evaluated by a state-licensed independent laboratory
or testing facility; and
o Rebut or explain the results.
An employee’s (1) refusal to permit drug searches or submit to drug testing or (2) positive test
result for illegal drugs may subject the employee to disciplinary action up to and including
immediate termination. Any employee violating this policy is subject to discipline, up to and
including termination, for the first offense. DELFI will comply with applicable state and local law
of each employee’s location with regard to drug testing.
Smoke-Free Workplace
Smoking is not allowed in Company buildings or work areas at any time. “Smoking” includes the
use of any tobacco products (including chewing tobacco), electronic smoking devices, and e-
cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted during break times in designated outdoor areas. Employees
using these areas are expected to dispose of any smoking debris safely and properly.
Commitment to Safety
DELFI is committed to maintaining a secure workplace. All employees have the opportunity and
responsibility to contribute to a safe work environment by using common sense rules and safe
practices and by notifying management when any health or safety issues are present. All
employees are encouraged to partner with management to ensure maximum safety for all.
In the event of an emergency, notify the appropriate emergency personnel by dialing 911 to
activate the medical emergency services.
