A Message From Our Executive Director:
On behalf of the entire Board of Directors here at the Massachusetts State Police Museum and Learning
Center, I want to thank every one of our volunteers and contributors. Without the time and funds contributed
by each of you, our Museum would cease to exist.
The last year has been a very trying one as the Museum struggled to remain afloat since the fire at 44
Worcester Street in Grafton forced us to close the Museum. Many of you are aware that the former Grafton
barracks sustained substantial damage and is in need of extensive repairs. The Museums’ volunteers and
our board members have been very active since that time in securing a new location for use until the
original location can be repaired and reopened. In the interim, we rolled out the ‘mobile museum’ which
consisted of a trailer loaded with displays and an old MSP motorcycle. The trailer travelled across the state
to schools and different events, allowing us to continue our mission of educating people on the history of
the MSP.
We are proud to announce the opening of the Museum annex at Providence Road in South Grafton. The
grand opening will be held Sunday, May 20, 2018 and we invite you all to bring your families and come see
the amazing new displays. Come have your picture taken in the recreation of Norman Rockwell’s ‘Runaway’
set, walk around the Mounted Unit display, featuring a full size horse display, fully equipped by the mounted
unit; check out our fleet of MSP cruisers and motorcycles, in addition to the numerous displays covering not
only the history of the MSP but many of the units serving today. The gift shop at our new location has a wide
variety of items and I am sure there is something for everyone that loves the Massachusetts State Police.
In closing, as a thank you to all the people that have brought the Museum to life, we will be mailing out
thank you letters which include vehicle stickers that you can share with your friends and family. These
stickers are not available in the gift shop, or anywhere else. Display your pride in the museum and your
connection to the MSP family and it’s history.
Respectfully,
