USE OF POWER TOOLS

SUMMARY OF CONTROL MEASURES:-

● Use correct tools for the task;

● The tools must be used in accordance with the

manufacturers instructions;

● Use 110-volt equipment where the equipment

is used on construction sites or environments
where there is a risk of injury;

● Use the correct P.P.E. for the task;

● Keep work equipment well maintained;

● Use anti-vibration handles where provided;

● Prevent access to hazardous work area;

● Do not overload power sockets;

● Use material supports as required;

● Use material clamps to keep hands away from
body parts;

● Ensure guards are positioned and adjusted as

detailed by the manufacturer;

● All electrical equipment must be PAT tested by

a competent person;

● Complete inspection BEFORE use, report
defects to your supervisor. DO NOT USE
DEFECTIVE POWER TOOLS;

● Check vibration exposure action and exposure

limit values. See HSE ref. Indg 175 and L140.
