USE OF MACHINERY

SUMMARY OF CONTROL MEASURES:-

● Only trained competent persons are
allowed to operate machinery over the age
of 18;

● The operator must use the machine in
accordance with the manufacturers

instructions;

● Competent person must complete a PUWER
and Risk Assessment;

● The operator must be instructed how to
operate the machinery safely including,but

not restricted to:

● Isolation of the machine to set up the

machine including locking off
procedure;

● Where applicable to the type of
machinery, use of inch or very slow

manual operation control;

● Provision and setting machinery guards

to the correct setting and the use of
other safety devices such as push sticks;

● Identify danger areas. Provide and the use

of exclusion zones;

● Use of extraction units, inspection,

maintenance and Thorough Examination
Inspections;
