Portable appliance testing (PAT)

• All portable electrical equipment (leads, power

tools, lighting etc.) must be PAT tested every 3
months

• The electrical equipment must display the

following information on a legible tag:

o the date the PAT test took place

o the expiry of the PAT test
2. Equipment o the name of the company who did the PAT
o the name of the company the PAT testing

was completed for

testing.

All electrical equipment and leads must be
visually inspected for damage before each use
and to ensure tag is still in place and legible;

any damaged equipment or leads must be
removed from site for replacement/repair.
