Lighting
• General lighting conditions must be in good order on
pedestrian walkways and general areas.
• All contractors must provide their own task lighting for
particular jobs.
• Look at lighting requirements as part of your pre-task
planning.
• Do you have sufficient lighting to access your work
area?

Consider lighting requirements before planning early
• morning or late evening works.
Lighting may need to be altered as services are
installed and walls are erected. Plan ahead for this.
• Ensure leads do not pose a tripping hazard.
• Portable lights require a 3 monthly PAT test.
• No portable halogen lights are allowed as they may
present a fire risk.
