Confined space entry
• A confined space permit approved by
Jacobs HSE is required before any entry to
a confined space.
• Only trained personnel are permitted to enter
a confined space. This is done under special

• If you are unsure if an area is a confined
space, STOP WORK! & ask your HSE
Advisor / Jacobs HSE.
• All safety & rescue equipment must be
certified/calibrated as relevant.
• Continuous gas monitoring is a requirement
so long as the person(s) is within the space.
• Rescue plan must form part of the safe
system of work and permit. Employees must
be trained in use of the equipment.
• Top man must be in place for the duration of
works.
