Exclusion zones
• Exclusion zones need to be
barricaded off where work presents
a risk to others. This could be from
falling materials or from hazards of
the plant itself.
1. Safe Access and Egress
• Hard barriers with suitable signage
required to prevent unauthorized
access. Barrier owner to be
displayed.
• Exclusion zone must be large
enough to contain any tool or
material that may fall.
• Exclusion zone to be removed when
works are complete.
• If the zone affects an access route,
a diversion must be agreed and in
place before the area is cordoned
off.
