A very big visitor!

Kentucky was beside himself with happiness and excitement when his
Dogmother came to collect him that evening. All the people decided to do

something they called 'wine time' down the back while the dogs all stretched
their legs together.

The people were chatting and laughing and regaling one another with stories of

their travels (much as Uncle Kentucky did). "I've done some travelling" said
Tucker. "One time I went next door and me and Buster who's Bill's dog went
on a most excellent adventure together."

"I got 'dopted once said Rosie. That was an adventure. The family had a

guinea pig they kept in the middle of the back lawn. I just wanted to make
friends with it (or something) but I fell off the top of the hutch and got my

leg stuck and those people weren't very happy and said I needed to come back
here. I needed to stay here

while they worked out
whether I might need a leg
operation, and in those

weeks I did lots of cuddling
with the Dog Father and he

said I should just stay for
ever!"

All of a sudden Bertie and

Elsie who had been playing in
the creek started yapping
most excitedly. All the dogs

came running from wherever
they had been to see what
