Housework Habits Among High School Students

A recent survey on the housework habits of high school

students reveals a mixed picture. 20% of students reported

regularly assisting with housework, while 70% occasionally

lifting a finger. Alarmingly, 10% admitted to never helping out.

These differences can be attributed to various factors. Firstly,

the regular helpers might come from families where domestic

responsibilities are shared, fostering a culture of teamwork and

responsibility. Secondly, the occasional helpers and the

never-helpers might belong to families where parents over-worry

about their children's workload, unintentionally robbing them of

valuable life skills.

I strongly believe that all high school students should be

encouraged to participate in housework. It not only builds

character and responsibility but also equips them with essential

life skills.
