Children will:

Understand the importance of the arts in their life and ability to access the curriculum and that
Art, Music, and PE are found in day to day life and the environment and help us keep fit and enjoy
the environment.

Have access to a range of strategies and resources to support their development and enjoyment.

Develop personal preferences and references in choice of colours, crafts, songs activities to build
healthy bodies.

Have the opportunity to use Music, Art, and PE e.g. in assemblies, class activities.

Receive the support they need in line with their learning needs, their chronological age and their
age to enable them to make progress and enjoy and achieve in the areas.

Develop higher order problem solving, construction and prediction, sequencing, and patterns.

Method of Delivery
The program will be delivered through a variety of strategies including:

Manipulatives, drill, active engagement and practice, play, songs and actions

Big books and other topic books for inspiration and connections
•
Extension activities for the more able

Use of multimedia equipment

Shared class books/storytimes/creation of personal books
•
4 part PE lessons (Warm up, Skilll, Game, Cooldown)

Classroom Activities and Strategies
Teachers
Teachers are provided with a variety of high yield strategies, resources, craft materials, songs on
CD, PE equipment and visual activities to address the differing learning strengths and ESL needs for
children who are non-native English learners. Teachers receive the EPG Curriculum resources to guide
their weekly planning.
