Overview Case Statistics

Thailand 2020 (B.E. 2563)

The Courts of Justice are classified into three levels consisting of court of first
instance, Courts of Appeal, and the Supreme Court (referred to as the Dka).

Cases under a power of the court of justice are categorized as follows: Civil Case,

Consumer Protection Case, Criminal Case, Bankruptcy Case, Tax Case, Intellectual
Property and International Trade Case, Labor Case, Environmental Case, Election

case, Juvenile and Family case, Tourist Case, and Corruption and Misconduct Case.

The statistical data in this annual report was collected nationwide by 274 courts in

the total amount : 262 courts of first instance, 11 courts of appeal and 1 the
Supreme Court (the data as at December 31, 2020).

Cases filing to the court nationwide in 2020 were over 1.7 million cases and

these were disposed of at 86.60% (table 1). The number of total case filings
decreased 164,160 cases and the number of total case disposed decreased 152,636

cases. As a result, the total cases during trial at the end of the year decreased by

11,524 cases.
