Chapter 2 One’s Residence
Unit 3: Memorable Events
Events always take place in people’s lives. Some are worth remembering; some can
be forgettable. Please give a short narrative of a memorable event in your life. It may
be something that happened recently or an experience of the past.
Answer A:
At my young age, I’ve experienced various things that have influenced me in many ways.
Some of those are happy moments with my family and relatives. I also had some good times
with friends. The most unforgettable one is when I spent a vacation with my family in Phuket a
year ago. At first, I was hesitant going there because the place was greatly devastated by the
Boxing Day Tsunami. However, when we reached the place and started touring the island, I
was mesmerized by the natural beauty of the beach. I was also touched by the stories of the
survivors, particularly the resort personnel, who manage to rise up from the tragic incident and
move on with their lives. It made me value life more and appreciate the things I have. The tour to
Phuket was not only about the enjoyment of having a holiday in a luxurious resort, but a pleasant
moment for reflection.
Points to emphasize in answering:
Start the narrative by mentioning the event or experience.
