1. You are planning to venture into the exporting business. You are conferring
with an exporting veteran regarding tips that he can give you. Ask intelli-
gent questions about possible challenges.
Sample answer:
Good day, Mr. Lo. Thanks for sparing some of your precious time for this meeting. You see, I’m
planning to venture into exporting, but I don’t have any background on it. Can you please tell
me what should I expect from this business? What should I prepare for? How much should I
have as initial investment? Who are the people whom I should know or approach? Thanks for
your time, Mr. Lo. I hope that your answers will help me do well in my plan to export.
2. You inform your staff that the company has recently ventured into the ex-
porting business. Tell the staff to expect the following changes and explain
why they come with the change.
a. Additional manpower
b. Additional machinery
c. New heads / supervisors
d. Different work schedule
Sample answer:
I have good news for everyone. Our company has finally decided to expand into the exporting
world. This means more business opportunities and more profit for us. However, we have to
accommodate some changes in relation to this. For example, we will definitely have additional
manpower, additional machinery, some new supervisors, and a different work schedule. All
these changes are in relation to our decision to move towards exporting. We will naturally have
to adjust these changes. However, I know that we will all reap the benefits of our decision once
we have established ourselves in field. Congratulations again to us!
