Evidence Write a Letter
PROMPT
In 9 Young People Who Changed the World, you learned about young people who
faced a problem and decided to do something about it. They used courage,
compassion, brain power, and creativity to seek a solution and ultimately change
the world for the better.
Choose one of the nine people featured and write a letter to a younger friend
explaining what is special about the person you chose.
PLAN
Reread the text about the person you chose. Record details about him or her.
Then make notes about the person’s background, the problem this person saw
or faced, and what the person did to address it.
