Short Why People Love
Read
Some people believe that the
mystery of the Loch Ness
monster hasn’t been solved.
1 In 1934 Robert Kenneth Wilson, a British doctor,
shocked the world with a photograph. He said he’d
taken the picture while driving past a Scottish lake
called Loch Ness. This was no typical scenic view,
though. The photo appeared to show a monstrous
creature. For more than a thousand years, people
had made claims about the mysterious monster’s
existence. Wilson’s photo seemed to prove that the
monster was real. A respected doctor wouldn’t falsify
a photo using a special effect, would he?
2 The photo drew people from all over the world to
Loch Ness. Everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of
the Loch Ness monster, but no one did.
Fictional detective Sherlock
Holmes and the mysteries he
solves have been popular
since the late 1800s.
