Chung, who is the art director and principal
conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, first
went to France 30 years ago and considers the country
his second home. He has served as the music director
of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio France since
2000. “I’m very honored that the French government
has decided to give me this award, and I hope Korea and
France can maintain even closer relations in the future,”
Chung said.
