Welding Students Earn TAP Credit Through SCC



          On April 29, 2023, DMTC had 13
          Welding level III and IV students
          earn Technical Advanced Placement
          (TAP) credit through Spartanburg
          Community College. These students
          earned a total of 8 hours of college
          credit, which they will be able to use
          toward a Welding AAS degree at the
          college.  The college courses they
          exempted are Gas and Arc Welding
          106 and Arc Welding III 115.  We are proud of Mr. Swanger and his students for this
          major accomplishment.
          These are the students who earned credit: Kevin Tessnier, Maggie Rhodes, Israel Da-
          vis, Zachary Harris, Andrew Stafford, Jayden Spires, Johnathan Craig, Jackson Robi-
          nette, Chance Phelps, Devin Phipps, Andrew Cantrell, (not pictured: Skylar Gault,
          Austin Ballman).




          DMTC Recognizes Teacher and Support Staff of the Year



         Congratulations to Caroline Gunnells, Daniel Morgan Technol-
         ogy Center’s Teacher of the Year for 2023-2024.  Mrs. Gunnells
         is the Employability Skills Instructor at DMTC.  She works really
         hard to help ensure her students are ready for the workforce.
         She greets her students with a welcoming smile each day and
         uses creative lessons to engage her students.


         Congratulations to Beth Hayes, Daniel Morgan Technology Cen-
         ter’s Support Staff of the Year for 2023-2024.  Beth is the recep-
         tionist at DMTC and does a great job running the front office.
         She is a dedicated employee who makes our students, staff, and
         guests all feel welcome.
