Intro. to Teaching Students Learn about STEM Using 3D Printers
Introduction to Teaching level I students are in the process
of opening the DMTC 3D Print Shop, a school-based store
that will be available to students, employees, and communi-
ty members. Students are learning how to use an Ender 3D
printer to create objects like keychains, phone stands, jars,
and more to be sold in the 3D Print Shop. The shop will also
offer things like movie and video game memorabilia, and all
proceeds will be reinvested into the Intro. to Teaching Program. As part of this pro-
ject, students are learning about STEM education and how teachers can utilize
affordable technology like 3D printers to facilitate STEM lessons in the classroom.
DMTC Students Get Experience on CAT Simulator
Morgan Corp. visited DMTC and discussed with students the mul-
tiple employment opportunities that they currently have availa-
ble. DMTC students were also able to experience the operation of
heavy equipment by participating in a mini training session on a
Morgan Corp. heavy equipment CAT simulator.
DMTC Students Experience Benefits of Therapy Dogs
The Introduction to Teaching and Health Science programs hosted

organizations. Ms. Daly explained what it takes to certify a therapy
dog and the many benefits and uses they provide in settings such as
schools, retirement centers, hospitals, and courts. Students were
able to interact with several
different breeds of certified
therapy dogs and experi-
ence their gentle natures.
