LEARNING OBJECTIVES

In this chapter, you will learn the concept of employment, therefore during the
learning process you will be asked to identify types of labor, distinguish the

labor force and not the labor force, describe the concept of employment,
analyze employment problems, describe solutions to overcome employment

problems, analyze the wage system, identify types of wages, describe the
concept of unemployment, identify types of unemployment, and analyze

efforts to overcome unemployment.

A. EMPLOYMENT

Labor is one of the important factors to achieve economic development.

Problems related to labor are often faced by many countries including
Indonesia. One of the efforts that can be made is to provide training to improve

labor skills so as to reduce labor problems.
