US Hispanics are 1.6 times more likely to contract COVID-19 than non-Hispanic
counterparts, 2.5 times more likely to be hospitalized from the virus and 2.1 times
more likely to die from it.*

As of 2017, 25% of the adult Hispanic and Latino population under 65 was uninsured
(versus 8% of the White population), so access to healthcare and financial-related
frustrations are prevalent among these Hispanics.**

                                            EMPLOYMENT

According to a study conducted by Pew Research Center in March 2021*:
 45% of Hispanics working in people-facing jobs have experienced a job or wage
loss since the start of the pandemic, versus 35% of those who work wholly or
                    mostly at home.

 62% have had trouble paying bills, gotten food from a food bank, experienced
problems paying their rent/mortgage, received governmental food assistance,
had trouble paying medical care, received unemployment benefits or lost health
                    insurance.

                        HISPANIC-OWNED BUSINESSES

As is the case with employment, Hispanic-owned businesses are overrepresented in
the hardest hit sectors of the economy during the pandemic, placing them at higher
risk of facing financial trouble. Furthermore, because of lower access to credit, 80% of

Hispanic-owned SMEs did not receive PPP funding which benefitted other
             businesses.**
