                                               Buying Human Hair

                   Source:
What is the source? Who produces actual product from the raw material?

Where does all the hair come from? What is synthetic hair? What is the

best type of hair? Are China and Korea the only sources of human hair

supply? How is it possible to source hair for Caucasian people from

                   Oriental countries?

                   What is the source?

The source is the country where the actual human hair is grown.

Who produces actual product from the raw material?

The first big boom in human hair products came in the early 1960’s when
everybody was buying human hair wigs as fashion accessories, the hair

for these wigs came from China, and was sold through agents out of
Hong Kong. This wig boom lasted about two years and then came the

hair-piece, which was attached to give extra volume to chignon’s or extra

volume and length to ponytails. By the end of 1962 the wig boom was

over and China turned to exporting its hair, to be turned into hair products

manufactured in Korea. Many of China’s wig factories closed, or

adapted to the work of separating hair from sacks and hair balls into

corresponding lengths and removing grey hairs. Thereby, creating

separate bundles to be exported to wigmakers in Korea and all around the

world. Most hair products such as wigs, hairpieces, and toupees were

created in Korea from the early 1960’s to the 1980’s, but now even the

Korean’s have their own factories in China; it is more cost efficient for

                   them to employ Chinese labour.
