Chapter 2

Remi Hair Non-Remi Hair and Falling Hair

                   Remi Hair:

It is so important to read the labels when purchasing hair. Remi hair
products will be labelled 100% Remi human hair, for Non-Remi hair the

label will merely state 100% human hair, two very different types of hair.
However, to the layman 100% human hair must seem to be alright.

Certainly, it will mean that human hair has been purchased, but problems

with uncontrollable matting could occur in use. You will recall from the

hair structure in volume 1; the human hair is held together with layers of

cuticle scales. If during the manufacture any hairs are mixed with any

other hairs that are upside down, then the cuticle scales will interlock

with the cuticle scales on the adjoining hairs, causing tangles and matting.

Remi hair is a name given to hair that has been tied in one piece close to

the roots before cutting. Thereby, keeping the roots and tips all in the

same direction. This separation of roots from the tips remains throughout

storage, selection and manufacturing processes. This ensures that Remi

hair does not tangle. Fig 1
