CAMP NEWS
LIGHT HORSE HARRY LEE CAMP (Old Dominion #364) Les Albers, Adjutant.
On 29 January 2025 twelve Heroes of ‘76 gathered at American Legion Post 176 in Springfield, Virginia to
confer the Heroes degree on US Marine Corps veteran Recruit Michael J. Erickson, a member of Washington
Chapter #3. Past Camp Commander Barry Bartley organized a superb staff and everyone had a role to play.
Significant contributions were made by Area Representative Brother William Sanner (Past president,
Committee of 33) who delivered the Bennington Flag lecture; Brother Buddy Wagner who offered a stirring
rendition of the Toast to the Flag; Brother Les Albers (drummer) who recited the Sixth Canto of the Monitor
Lecture. The camp provided a variety of uniforms to further reinforce the patriotic event: five in regimental
uniforms, three in hunting frock field uniforms, one in tricorn, and one in US Army dress blue uniform. This
was a wonderful ceremony that welcomed a genuine Hero into our ranks.
