4 THE SOJOURNER
NATIONAL SECRETARY’S DESK
All Chapters should have a secretary or assistant secretary who utilizes and
maintains the Chapter membership records with the National Sojourners MMS. Our
National Website (nationalsojourners.org) is another tool that should be used by
secretaries. Members are also encouraged to make use of the website.
Information on our upcoming Mid-Winter Meeting (MWM) may be found in the
centerfold of this Fall Issue of The Sojourner and on our website. We hope you are
able to join us in Tucson in January for fun, friendship, and knowledge sharing. The National Essay Contest
form is also found in the centerfold section of this Fall Issue and likewise can be downloaded from the front
page of the website under the YOUTH section.
The Chapter Annual Report (CAR) needs to be filled out digitally, using Microsoft Excel or Open Office,
saved as a SINGLE Excel file and attached to an email and sent to hq@nationalsojourners.org. The staff
informs me we still have not received CARs from the following Chapters:

Our Veterans are so deserving of respect, honor, and recognition every day of the year. But Veterans Day,
November 11, is the perfect opportunity to go out of our way to celebrate these special men and women. The
National Office would like to offer a huge Veterans Day thank you to all of our Nation’s Veterans and their
families. We honor your sacrifices, both past and present, and you mean the world to us. Thank you for your
service.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Mark W. Underwood
