He then thanked everyone for “the honor of being your President” and reminded everyone as Bob Hope al-
ways sang “Thanks for the memories”.
The National President then called on the President of NASOCOCO, Brother Carl Diamond, PNC, for his
report. Brother Diamond reported we had met the contractual requirements for this year’s ANC with the hotel.
He announced the locations for the next 2 MWMs and next 2 ANCs:
2022 JAN MWM – Baton Rouge, LA
2022 JUN ANC – Atlanta, GA
2023 JAN MWM – Raleigh, NC
2023 JUN ANC – Harrisburg, PA
Brother Roth called for the report from the 2020-21 National Commander, Heroes of ’76, Brother Marty
Schwebel. Brother Schwebel greeted everyone and stated his year started off with a virtual installation held on
26 May, 2020. He was pleased to report, despite the pandemic, 3 new Heroes Camps were chartered last year:
Jimmy Doolittle Camp (422), Roberdeau Camp (564), and Sammy Lee Davis Camp (567). He regretted not
being able to travel more to meet and greet the Heroes across the United States.
The National President then commented on the National Sojourners activities in the year past and the Mason-
ic life in a pandemic. He was pleased so many Chapters were able to continue their Sojourner activities
through virtual and hybrid meetings and not let the pandemic stand in their way. Brother Bob stated “…it was
your strength and your determination that kept us growing in numbers…” and indicated in his remarks that we
need to grow the Order before we “age out”. He then thanked everyone for the extraordinary privilege of hav-
ing been their National President.
The National President called upon Brother Wayne Barnes, NP-Elect, to present the Memphis Cup Award.
The recipient was Brother John J. Hillyer III, Regional Representative from Florida who gave some short re-
marks and thanked everyone for the award.
The Houghton Award recipient was introduced by the National President. Brother William A. Hickey III,
Chairman of the Technology Committee, who received the award, expressed both his surprise and appreciation
for the prestigious award.
Brother Roth announced the start of the conduct of the business portion of the ANC. He asked Brother Chuck
Warren to explain the electronic voting process. A practice ballot was conducted. The following National Of-
ficers were then elected or appointed:

The National President called upon the National Judge Advocate, Brother Ben Yudesis, for remarks concern-
ing the Resolutions presented for vote. He moved that Resolutions 2020-14, 2020-15, 2021-1, be voted on and
that all others be tabled, and a Commission be appointed to write a Constitution and Bylaws for National So-
journers, Incorporated. The motion was seconded and approved by vote of the delegates.

On Friday, June 18, 2021, Brother Roth called the 101 Annual Convention again to labor at 1000 hours,
CDT. Brother R. Thom Davies, III, National Chaplain, attended the Bible and gave the invocation. All in at-
tendance recited in unison the Pledge of Allegiance.
