30 THE SOJOURNER
CHARLESTON CHAPTER #28, Gregg Schneider, Secretary.
On March 11, 2025, Charleston
Chapter #28 presented the Toast
to the Flag to Orange Charles
Towne Lodge #14. The meeting
was special not only to present the
toast in one of the oldest lodges in
South Carolina but also because
the Master, Wor. Guy Lamb had
the pleasure of initiating his
nephew, Brother Jonathon Buzar,
into Freemasonry.

KNICKERBOCKER–WEST POINT CHAPTER #13, Jack H. Moore, Secretary.
The Chapter continues to support and present the ROTC
National Sojourner Medal & certificate to area JROTC high
schools and several area College ROTC units. As there are only
two Sojourner Chapters in New York State, the Long Island
Chapter supports that area, while our Hudson Valley Chapter
supports numerous programs from New York City to all of
upstate. Two new College ROTC units recently supported is the
Air Force ROTC unit at Cornell University and the Army
program at Siena College in Albany. Our Chapter also presents a
$200 donation to one of the many units. This year our Secretary-
Treasurer, Bro. Jack Moore presented the award and donation to
the Washingtonville High School Army JROTC unit. The money
was used to support their trip to the National Drill Competition in
Daytona Beach. A different unit is selected yearly. The Chapter
also held their quarterly meeting & elections on Sunday 4 May at The Sunday “Brunch Crew”
the Thayer Hotel at West Point. Due to illness and several
Brothers travelling, it was a smaller gathering than usual. The
Sojourner Dues Card and Certificate was presented to our newest
member, Andrew “Doc” Berry. Our annual summer picnic plans
were announced for meeting at the West Point Round Pond picnic
area on Saturday, 23 August. And finally, we sadly report the
passing of fellow Sojourner Mel Birndaum, who laid down his
working tools on 29 April 2025.
