                            NATIONAL PRESIDENT’S MASONIC BIOGRAPHY

                                                     Personal and Family

Born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, to Richard and Mildred (Hupert) Mahoney on 17 May 1948.
Attended Eau Claire public schools, graduating from Eau Claire North High School in 1966. After graduation,
attended Eau Claire Technical School and studied Mechanical Drafting.
After graduating, enlisted in the US Navy Seabees as an E-3 with a rate of Engineering Aid (see Military Service
History). After Active Duty, attended University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for two semesters. Then in 1973 was hired by
Wisconsin Telephone as a Network Clerk. As technology evolved, Directory Assistance was my next position at the
telephone company (non-traditional male job amongst many females). During my tenure as an operator, I met my future
wife, Shirley Dulak, who transferred from Stevens Point, WI.
As time passed, we ultimately married on May 15, 1976. Our family started with our first daughter, Jennifer (now
Wagner). Continuing our employment with Wis Tel, daughter No. 2, Tracy (Quamme), came along. Late in 1981 Shirley
ultimately transferred to Madison, WI, and I was able to transfer to Janesville, WI (both of us still at Wis Tel). Little did
we know that daughter No. 3, Sarah (Mahoney), was coming to meet us on August 3, 1982.

We both continued to work for Wisconsin Telephone (Ameritech, SBC, AT&T) until Shirley’s office was closing and
she did not want to work out of town. She retired after 34.5 years with the phone company, while I continue to work for
another year or so until downsizing started and a buyout was offered. I retired twice in 2008…from AT&T and from the
         Military.
My Masonic career started in 1972 in Waukegan, Illinois, as I was raised a Master Mason (as a courtesy to Eau Claire
Lodge #112). I became a York Rite Mason after I was raised and the rest is history (see Masonic Offices Held).
Joined Milwaukee Chapter #27 in March 2005 and began my National Sojourners journey. Brought Truax Chapter

#197 out of In Memoriam in February 2019.
I look forward to serving you as your President, to the best of my ability.
