18 June 1968 Enlisted in the US Navy Seabees
I trained as an Engineering Aid (Surveyor) and served in that capacity, along with some additional duties
December 1968 – July 1969 Davisville, RI (Home Station)
July 1969 – March 1970 Viet Nam (Seabees)
Sep 1970 – April 1971 Puerto Rico (Seabees)
April 1971 – August 1972 Great Lakes NS (Seabees)
August 1972 – June 1973 Navy Reserve (Drilling Reservist)
June 1973 – July 1996 US Army Reserve (Drilling Reservist)
Served in a Combat Engineer Unit (surveyor/draftsman)
Served in a Helicopter Unit as a Maintenance Supervisor
Served with a USAR School as a Supply Sergeant
Served with a HQ and HQ Company Support Group Headquarters as a Supply NCO, Chemical NCO, Training NCO,
Maintenance NCO and First Sergeant (reached high year tenure as an E-8, so I could not stay)
July 1996 – May 2008
Enlisted in the Wisconsin Air National Guard and took and administrative reduction to E-5 (Staff Sergeant)
Trained as a Supply Sergeant and as an Education and Training NCO
Reached Mandatory Retirement Age (60) and retired from the Wisconsin Air National Guard on 16 May 2008 as an
E-8 (Senior Master Sergeant), with total Military Service of 39 years, 10 months, 29 days.

Served as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-I) (16+ years) in Sun Prairie, WI
Served as a Volunteer Fireman in Eau Claire Township and Sun Prairie
Cooked and served meals at my church

Helped establish and volunteered at a Community Dinner (now in its 15 year) in my community (Sunshine Supper)
Volunteered with the MSA (Masonic Service Association) at the William S. Middleton VA Hospital in Madison, WI, for
11 years, with over 3,500 hours
Volunteer with the Dane County RSVP as a driver (Vets Helping Vets, Driver Services)
Volunteer driver for Home Delivered Meals in my community
