          KINGS MOUNTAIN CAMP (John Sevier Chapter #548, Daniel E. Rancourt, Secretary) A new Hero of
         ’76 was initiated into our camp after being caught trying to infiltrate our lines. After intense interrogation, and
         several, (well, more than several) trips to the “D”, the recruit saw the error of his ways and took his oath. Our
         newest member is none other than Master Sergeant Brent D. Cobb, U.S. Army (Retired), now the Veterans
         Affairs Manager for Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Brent is a very active Sojourner, who has been
         presenting ROTC Awards at some of the local colleges and high schools on behalf of our National Sojourners.
         This year, in addition to the regular assortment of ROTC and JROTC awards, we presented $250 cash
         scholarships from the I. Lewis Langley JROTC Scholarship to three deserving college bound cadets.

          LIGHT HORSE HARRY LEE CAMP (OLD DOMINION #364) Les Albers, Adjutant. On 29 March
         2023, eleven Heroes of ‘76 gathered at American Legion Post 176 in Springfield, Virginia to confer the
         Heroes degree on US Navy Veteran and Recruit Jeffrey McGlothin. The bivouac began with the presentation
         of a 25-year Hero’s Pin and Certificate to Hero Michael Kastle, who was sporting the Heroes ribbon he
         received at his initiation. Camp Commander Barry Bartley, (also First Vice President of 364) organized a
         superb staff: Past President Dan Clark, Chief of Staff; Chapter President Aaron Irvin, Assistant Chief of Staff;
         Past President and Commander Robb Mitchell, Officer of the Day; Brother William Sanner (Past President,
         Past Commander, Committee of 33), Commander of the Guard; and Les Albers (Adjutant, Toast to the Flag,
         Sixth Canto). Our dynamic Light Horse Harry Lee Camp cast was enhanced by Past National Secretary-
         Treasurer William Sanner’s Bennington Flag Lecture. This was a wonderful ceremony that welcomed a
         genuine Hero into our ranks.
